This September, the National Women’s Hall of Fame will celebrate its 2026 class of 11 remarkable women, recognized for achievements across athletics, science, literature, public service, and more.

Among them is Jackie Joyner-Kersee, one of the greatest all-around athletes in history and a six-time Olympic medalist. There’s also Marie Tharp, the pioneering oceanographic cartographer whose maps of the ocean floor helped provide important evidence for plate tectonics. And Judith Viorst, the beloved author behind Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, whose writing has entertained readers for generations.

Their stories are a reminder that there isn't just one way to make an impact. Some women make history on a track, some in a laboratory, and others through words, ideas, or creativity.
